Music Magazine Cover

The Process of Creating a Music Magazine Cover

First of all before going on photoshop, I started off by deciding what genre I would like my music magazine to be. I decided between two genres which was classical and country pop. In order to come to a decision I looked at previous bands and looked deeper into what type of music gnere I usually listen to in terms of music, as a result I came towards the decision of producing a country pop music magazine cover, this was because I was more interested and in this genre of music, and I knew more about the genre itself.
I then started collecting images for the front of my cover before anything else so I knew what look and style I would be following on with such as the mast head, puffs and lures. Because I was creating a country pop music magazine cover I drew up a plan in my media sketchbook, which included the font of the mast head and what colours I would use in the magazine, and what other grpahics I could use on the front. I took many photos in order to select the appropriate shot and link it with the genre country pop.

As you can see below I have listed the images that I took however I did not find they were suitable for my magazine cover, however they evident the photogrpahs taken. The photos I have listed below are the photos I did not select for my magazine cover this is because the lighting in the photograph was uneven or the shot was not decent, as in soemtimes the models head was cut off etc. This was my final music magazine cover, however was improved from class feedback as well as tutor feedback, the improvements that were made included the masthead looking more bolder therefore I added a cream outline to go with the maroon, so it would stand out. I also used a hint of orange to make the puffs and lures to stand out which is a clever technique used in order to attract the audience. This was suggested in my feedback, which I took on board.
